Metaluna Productions is proud to inform you that we have acquired the european distribution rights for the argentinian documentary series “A Latina”, produced by Mulata Films and Sadop.

“A Latina” follows the footsteps of an argentinian writer in his quest to discover the real identity of the latin american people, travelling through the continent and going through lots of meetings and discoveries. The series is made up of 24 episodes of 26 minutes each, with episodes dedicated to “the great leaders of Latin America”, “security”, “work in the Mercosur”… Shot like a fiction series, “A Latina” brings a new concept to the screen and will show you new faces of the Latin american continent.

“The broken imago” teaser

The teaser for “The Broken Imago” will be ready by the end of august, and a series of professionnal screenings will be organized in New York (USA), Montreal (CA), Los Angeles (USA), Paris (FR) and Buenos Aires (AR), before the teaser to be put online on our Web site, and then on selected partners’ ones.

On other projects, Metaluna’s screenwriter, Jean Depelley, is currently remodeling the script for “The Entombed”. Metaluna Productions is also interested in a french short film project, more news about this early september.

“The Broken Imago” teaser shooting

Metaluna Productions and Douglas Buck (”Sisters”, “Family Portraits”, “Cutting Moments”) have wrapped up the shooting of the teaser for the forthcoming feature film project, “The Broken Imago”, to be directed by Douglas. The teaser was shot on Super 35mm (scope) in Argentina. It was, of course, directed by Douglas Buck, with Karim Hussain (director of “Subconscious Cruelty”, “Ascension” and “La belle Bête”) as the DP on the teaser and Rita Romagnino (Doug’s long time collaborator) as 1st AD. The line production was set up by Mulata films of Buenos Aires and the gory FX were designed by Rabbid FX.

“The Broken Imago” teaser should be completed by early july 2008. It will reveal some of the most shocking and still amazingly beautiful and poetic images from the visionary mind of acclaimed director Douglas Buck who’s now working on polishing the script for the feature.

Metaluna productions and Douglas Buck are heading to South America by the end of may to shoot a teaser in 35mm for their current ecological horror project, “The Broken Imago”. Canadien acclaimed director and DP Karim Hussain (”Subconscious Cruelty”, “La belle Bête”) will be the DP on the shooting. Argentinian companies Nerdhaus films and Mulata films are joining the project to provide local production.
